In the Upper School grades (6th-9th), students extend prior knowledge of grammar skills, reading comprehension, and composition techniques while enhancing their vocabulary development, spelling, and technology skills. Mathematically, students expand upon foundation skills previously mastered and incorporate higher-level problem-solving skills and algebraic concepts in Pre-Algebra and Algebra 1. Students explore the world around us in Earth Science, Life Science and Physical Science through a hands-on approach to learning. Students also examine ancient civilizations, American history, and Cultural Geography to gain a better understanding of God’s creation.
Small class sizes and qualified teachers provide opportunities for one-on-one instruction and attention to the needs of every student academically and emotionally. Additionally, student development is enhanced with instruction in our enrichment areas including computer technology, music, drama, art, library, and physical education. In the Upper School, student involvement is also encouraged in our athletics program which includes basketball, soccer, volleyball, tennis, and bowling. It is our goal for all students to recognize and appreciate all of their God given talents.
